FINE GAEL PLAN TO SADDLE STUDENTS WITH DEBT
Fine Gael want you to take out huge loans to pay college fees. This will allow
the colleges to increase fees - and so your debt will grow. In Britain, the
loan scheme has meant that fees have risen to £9,000 a year. In the US,
students are leaving college with debts of €25,000.
Education is a right - not a privilege. No one has yet suggested that we should pay individually to enter primary or secondary schools. Third level education should be made more accessible and so fees should be cut.
